Lois Mathias

Mrs. Lois M. Mathias, age 96, of LaPorte, Ind., died 11:30 AM Saturday, February 24, 2007, at her residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born July 27, 1910 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Norval Shaw and the late Dilla Eagle Shaw. Mrs. Mathias was a homemaker and was a member of First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie, Ind. She Married DeLoss Smith for 20 Plus years in LaPorte, Ind. who preceded in death in 1952. She remarried in May 1964 in LaPorte to Virgil Mathias who preceded in death in 1986. She is survived by her Two Daughters, Margaret Jane Mathias Hall of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Arlene Pajor of La Porte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Don L.& Betty Jean Smith of Coloma, Mich., Mr. Dan Smith of Michigan City, Ind., Mr. DeLoss Smith Betty of Sarasota, Fla.; Twenty Five grandchildren; Seventy One great-grandchildren; Seventeen great-great grandchildren She is preceded in death by her Husbands, Parents and One Daughter, Artis Joy. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2007and from 9:00 AM Wednesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2007 with Pastor Mary Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
