Lois Tarnow

Mrs. Lois Tarnow, 78, of La Porte, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 7:05 p.m. at La Porte Hospital. She was born May 24, 1928, in La Porte to Carl and Ruth Wuellner Moehlman, and had lived in the La Porte area all her life. Mrs. Tarnow retired in 1990 as office manager with the La Porte Park and Recreation Department after 31 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. On May 2, 1953, in La Porte, she married William Tarnow, who died Aug. 23, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Bethany; and two sisters, Carolyn Peters and Helen Brush. Surviving are five brothers-in-law, Joe Brush, Al Peters and Wayne, Wendell and Gene Tarnow, all of La Porte; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Mary Davis of La Porte. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, La Porte.
