Lois Willis

Mrs. Lois D. Willis, age 76, of La Porte, Ind., died 7:15 AM Thursday, February 15, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born May 18, 1930 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Thomas Rose and the late Grace Taylor Rose. She has been a lifelong resident of LaPorte, Ind. Mrs. Willis was employed by LaPorte Co. Public Library for 17 years and retired in 2006. Prior to working at the Library she worked for Sear of LaPorte and was with them until they closed. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of D.A.R. Daughter's of American Revolution, and Order of Eastern Star LaPorte Chapter. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and enjoyed cooking for her family. On December 18, 1954 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Taylor Willis who preceded in death July 28, 2003. She is survived by her Two Daughters, Mrs. Janet David Steele of La Porte, Ind., Debra L. Willis of Portage, Ind.; Two grandchildren Michael Steele, Matthew Steele; and One Sister, Mrs. Phyllis Travis of La Porte, Ind. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, Three Brothers and One Sister. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2007 and 9:30 AM until time of the service on Monday. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM Monday, February 19, 2007, Rev. Douglas Hadley officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
