Margaret Goyda

Mrs. Margaret A. Goyda, 78, of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 11, 2025 at her home.

She was born February 27, 1947 in La Porte, the daughter of William Kraus and Margret (Masterson) Kraus.

On August 15, 2002, in Union Mills, she married Nick Goyda who survives.

Margret adored her grandchildren and took them to church with her. She enjoyed swimming in the pool with her grandchildren and loved her husband dearly. Margret loved to dance and sing. She loved kids and was the best grandmother. Margret was greatly loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.

She is also survived by her daughter, Dawn Chelbowski; two granddaughters, Brandy  (Matt Pruitt) Forsythe and Isabella Chelbowski; one grandson, Harley Forsythe; six great-grandchildren, Johnny, Nick, Sophia, Kendra, Emma, Blade, one step daughter, Nikki Arndt; step son, Joey (April) Goyda..

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shannon Snyder; sister, Maxine; brother, Bill Kraus.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. La Porte, (219) 362-3333 on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.
