Marilyn "Mickey" J. Nelson June 6, 1947-March 4, 2019 Marilyn J. Nelson, 71 Years, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at LaPorte Hospital. She was born June 6, 1947 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Cecil Zahrn and Florence (Arndt) Zahrn. Mickey was the last graduating class from Union Township High School in 1965. She enjoyed many hobbies together with her husband Mike. She enjoyed fishing and going on boat rides on the pontoon. She, enjoyed line dancing with friends and Sunday drives together. Most of all she enjoyed her time spent with family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. Mickey will be missed by all that knew her, including her two dogs, Missy and Snuggles. On May 28, 1977, in Hamlet, Indiana, she married Mike Nelson who survives. She is also survived by her three daughters, Lisa (James) Grott, Bobbi (Stan) Reinhold, Angie Fox; son, Jamie (Patricia) Zahrn; nine grandchildren, Anecio Zahrn, Zakariah Zahrn, Parker Fox, Cole Reinhold, Haley Fox, Lyndi Reinhold, Kasandra Richardson, Justine Richardson, Hanna Zahrn; great-grandson, Leonidas Zahrn; two sisters, Rita Garrison, Ethel Ferguson; several nieces and nephews. Mickey was preceded in death by both her parents; sister, Josephine Sparks; grandchild, Jacob Grott. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Indiana. A private life celebration will be held at a later date at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
