Mark Muccigrosso, 69, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 15, 2026. Born on March 23, 1956, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Mark lived a life defined by service, integrity, and devotion to family. He grew up in Corning, New York, graduating from Corning East High School in 1974 and attending Corning Community College before joining the Coast Guard.
Mark proudly served his country for 22 years as an Aviation Maintenance Technician with the United States Coast Guard. A gifted and meticulous mechanic, he was known for his ability to fix, restore, and improve nearly anything with patience and care. His strong work ethic, technical skill, and unwavering honesty earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike throughout his distinguished career. After retiring from the Coast Guard, Mark found a second career at Long Beach Country Club where he worked another 20+ years.
Beyond his professional life, Mark found joy in simple pleasures. He loved working in his yard and garden, dining out, and watching his favorite football team. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with his childhood friends who continued to be close throughout the years. He loved visiting with family and friends at Keuka Lake New York, California and Florida. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren, who were the greatest source of pride and happiness in his life. Mark was also a big animal lover and enjoyed his family pets throughout the years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Iris (Sanchez) Muccigrosso; his daughters, Michelle Muccigrosso and Stephanie Holden (Brad); his siblings, Thomas Muccigrosso (April), James Muccigrosso, and Ann Colpitts (William); his treasured grandchildren Kylie, Claire, Brayden and Kit Holden; and many loving family members and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, S. Joseph Muccigrosso and Helen (Dobranski) Muccigrosso; and his sister-in-law Deb Muccigrosso.
A memorial service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, on Friday February 27 at 11 AM. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service. Inurnment and military honors will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery will immediately follow.
Mark will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, unwavering honesty, and deep love for those around him. His presence will be deeply missed but his love, legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
