Martha Pearish

Mrs. Martha E. "Betty" Pearish, 80, of 2422 S. Taylor Rd., Mill Creek, died Saturday Feb. 7, 2004, at 8:23 p.m. at the LaPorte Hospital. She was born Oct.12, 1923 , in Rose Hill, Virginia, to George W. & Eliza Ely Lee, and has lived here for 60 years coming from Virginia. Mrs. Pearish was empolyed at Whirlpool Corp. in the food service area for 4 years. She had also worked at the Fox Woolen Mills when she was younger. On Jan. 16, 1943 in LaPorte she married Merle Pearish who preceded in death on April 2, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters, and five brothers. Surviving are one niece Sharon Rose of Mill Creek, IN.; two great nieces, Nancy Morgan of LaPorte, IN., and Susan Klibinski of Mill Creek, IN.; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday Feb. 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. David Gibbs officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
