Michael Leroy Pointon, Jr., 45, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday December 13, 2021 at his home.

He was born November 8, 1976 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of  Mary (Shei) Pointon.

A lifelong resident of the area, Michael graduated from New Prairie High School and went on to become a licensed plumber, working for H.G. Plumbing. An avid Cubs fan, Michael enjoyed fishing and woodworking, doing construction and remodeling. He loved helping others with anything they asked of him, like fixing things in their homes.

Michael is survived by his mother and step-father, Mary Pointon and Richard Doughty of Westville; son, Michael Thomas Pointon of Goshen; daughter, Mia Belle Pointon of Goshen;  mother of his children, Amy Pointon of Goshen; two sisters, Dorothy Maxine (Quiante) Livers of Westville and  Mary J. Hicks of Portage and several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his niece, Liberty Reign Hicks and grandparents, Ray & Dorothy Shei.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday December 16. Cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, you may make memorial donations in Michaels honor to his family in care of Haverstock Funeral Home.
