Nancy L. Daedone, age 81, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, June 22, 2026, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle.
Born on February 4, 1945, in LaPorte, Indiana, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Harold Boniface and Lois (Upp) Boniface. She graduated from Rolling Prairie High School with the Class of 1963 before pursuing her lifelong passion for education at Purdue University, where she earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education.
Nancy dedicated her career to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. Teaching was far more than a profession to her—it was her calling. She cherished every student who walked through her classroom doors, and her patience, kindness, and unwavering encouragement left a lasting impression on countless children and their families throughout the years. During periods when she was not in the classroom, Nancy also worked in the home mortgage industry, where she guided families through one of life's most important milestones with the same care, integrity, and attention that defined every aspect of her life.
Following her graduation from Purdue, Nancy embraced adventure, spending several years living in California, Maryland, and Virginia before returning home to Indiana in 2005. Although she enjoyed experiencing different parts of the country, Indiana was where her heart truly belonged.
Above all else, Nancy treasured her family. She found immense joy in preserving precious memories through scrapbooking, carefully documenting the milestones, celebrations, and everyday moments that made life so special. Holidays and birthday gatherings were among her favorite occasions, as they brought together the people she loved most. In recent years, Nancy also formed many treasured friendships at Miller's Merry Manor, where she delighted in lively games of BINGO and Bunko, sharing laughter and companionship with those around her.
Nancy is lovingly remembered by her brother, Larry Boniface (Jill); her niece, Cami Boniface-Armstrong (Larry); her nephews, Cole Boniface (Brenda) and Chance Boniface (Jerilyn); her great-nieces, Payton Boniface and Calea Boniface; her great-nephews, Seth Boniface (Samantha), Adam Boniface, Broc Boniface, Cade Boniface, and Gage Armstrong; and her great-great-nieces, Abby, Paisley, and Vivian, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Nancy's legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and quiet generosity. Whether she was inspiring a child in the classroom, preserving family memories one scrapbook page at a time, or simply sharing a smile with a friend, she touched lives with grace and kindness. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the wisdom she shared so generously, and the countless lives she enriched throughout her remarkable journey.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Rolling Prairie Cemetery, where family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Nancy's life and to honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
