Dr. Norman Holm, 91 of 2002 Andrew Avenue, LaPorte, IN died Monday September 27, 2004 at 10:40 a.m. at Miller?s Merry Manor, in New Carlisle, Indiana. He was born February 14, 1913 in Tyler, MN to George and Anna Johansen Holm who has preceded. Dr. Holm lived most of his life in the LaPorte area; in 1979 he retired in Bastrop, Texas where he lived until returning to Indiana in 1999. Dr. Holm was a Veterinarian for 36 years and retired in 1979, he graduated from the University of Minnesota, earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1941. On September 20, 1942 he married Evelyn Koenig, who preceded in 2001, also preceded in death are a daughter Marsha, a sister Ellen, a brother Hakon Holm. Surviving is a son George Cathy Holm of Michigan City, IN a son Dr. Robert Nancy Holm of Woodinville, WA a daughter Mrs. Noralyn Paul Erickson of Dayton, IA A daughter Mrs. Sandra Tom Peck of Indianapolis, IN a brother Mr. Hugo Holm of Bremen, IN and a sister Mrs. Sigrund Tom Garner of Towson, MD. Dr. Holm has 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Dr. Holm was a member of the LaPorte First United Methodist Church and was the president or chairman of the Lion?s Club; he helped with the Salvation Army, United Way, YMCA, Michiana District of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Assoc., People to People International, Board chairman of the LaPorte First United Methodist Church and Bastrop, Texas United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. The Funeral will be a Memorial Service at LaPorte First United Methodist Church on Saturday October 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation; Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of LaPorte, 1225 Michigan Ave. LaPorte, IN 46350 or the Salvation Army P.O.
