Opal Murphy

Miss Opal M. Murphy, age 75, of North Liberty, Ind., died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at her residence in North Liberty, Ind. She was born May 12, 1931 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Kenneth Murphy and the late Mabel Baringer Murphy. She has lived in the North Liberty area for 51 years moving there from LaPorte, Ind. She moved to North Liberty in 1955 to work in the family grocery store. She later worked at Wilcox Grocery and then retired from Wells Aluminum. Miss Murphy was a member of North Liberty Church of the Brethren. She played the Piano for her church and is a graduate from LaPorte High School. She is also survived by her Sister, Mrs. Miriam Wiles of Portage, Ind.; Two Brothers, Mr. Clarence Murphy of Mishawaka, Ind., Mr. Charles Murphy of Chesterfield, Mo.; Seven Nieces and One Nephew. She is preceded in death by Two Nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST Friday, January 19, 2007 at the North Liberty Church of the Brethren. Funeral service will be at North Liberty Church of the Brethren at 12:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2007, Rev. Carol M. Pfeiffer officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
