Patricia Sachtleben, born on July 18, 1939, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, departed this life peacefully on October 11, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. With a gentle spirit and a warm smile, she touched the lives of many, leaving behind an indelible mark on her community and those who knew her well.
For many years, Patricia devoted herself to her career as a secretary at US Steel, where her diligence and professionalism endeared her to colleagues and superiors alike. Yet, it was not merely in her work that Patricia found her purpose; rather, it was through the intimate connections she cherished with her family and friends that her true legacy unfolded.
A nurturing daughter, a loving sister, a devoted wife, a proud mother, and a doting grandmother, Patricia exuded love and warmth that resonated through every facet of her life.With a heart full of devotion, Patricia delighted in weekly gatherings for the "Sachtleben Bible Hour," a cherished family tradition that strengthened bonds and deepened faith. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident in her daily biblical readings, which provided her solace and guidance throughout her life. Patricia also found joy in the companionship of her pets, further highlighting her nurturing nature.A strong sense of community defined Patricia's life, as seen in her active involvement with the Michiana Antique Car Club alongside her late husband, Frederick Sachtleben. As an excellent neighbor and a steadfast friend, she was ever-present, offering support, kindness, and a listening ear to those in need.
Patricia is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna Osier of Orland Park, IL, Claudia (Doug) Winter of La Porte, IN, and Elaine (Allen) Furth of Annapolis, MD; her devoted son, Fritz (Sharon) Sachtleben of Tinley Park, IL; and a cherished legacy comprising her grandchildren Fritz (Molly), Chris (Sandra), Elyse (Josh), Roger (Michelle), Eric (Shannon), and Elaine (Nathanael), along with four great-grandchildren. Each of these individuals holds within them the values and love that Patricia instilled, a testament to her remarkable life.
Predeceased by her devoted husband, Frederick Sachtleben, and her parents, Edmund Felthouse and Irene (Meyers) Goe, as well as her sister, Barbara Wysocki and a baby brother Gearld Felthouse. Patricia now reunites with them in eternal peace.
Her memory will be honored during visitation services on October 14, 2025, at Haverstock Funeral Home Inc, located at 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, IN, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location, beginning at 12:00 PM. Patricia will find her final resting place at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN, following the burial service at 1:00 PM.
