Patricia Ann Schmidkunz, 44, of 471 N. 975 E., Mill Creek, IN, passed away, Tuesay, October 12, 2004 in the St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, IN. She was born, February 1, 1960 in LaPorte, IN., to Shirley Olson and Camiel Doms, her father has preceded. She had lived in the LaPorte, area, all of her life. On October 27, 1979 at St. Anthony?s Catholic Church in Fish Lake, In, she married Melvin R. Schmidkunz, who survives. She was a member of the Sauktown Church of Christ of Mill Creek, IN., President of Joyful Encouragers of Sauktown Church of Christ, organized monthly fellowship dinners at the church, 2003 Director of Vacation Bible School, Wills Twp. Farm Bureau, LaPorte Area Women?s Democratic Club, Gleaners, Wills Twp. Home Extension Club and was a 1979 Graduate of New Prairie High School. She worked at the Whirlpool cafeteria for 23 years in various positions. Survivors include her husband; Melvin R. Schmidkunz of Mill Creek, IN., her mother Shirley Doms of Mill Creek, IN., father-in-law and mother-in-law; Alden & Mary Schmidkunz of LaPorte, IN.; brother-in-laws, Robert Brenda Schmidkunz of LaPorte, IN., Willard Jennifer Schmidkunz of Buchanan, MI.; uncles & aunts, Roland Shirley Olson of Mill Creek, IN, Catherine Olson of Mill Creek, IN, Joseph Jean Doms of Mill Creek, IN, Victor Leona Doms of New Carlisle, IN., Mary Vantine of North Liberty, IN., Alice Bob Goethals of LaPorte, IN.; niece, Morgan Schmidkunz; nephew, Devon Schmidkunz; cousins, Steve Olson, Eva Marie Olson, Marge Peters, Charles Goethals, Judy Erv Jourdan, Richard Donna Goethals, Robert Shelly Goethals, Marialice Goethals, Carolyn Jo Bob Hluchan, Connie Tim Ransom, Greg Doms, Eric Anna Doms and Leann Doms, step-cousins; Donna Ed Wilken, Gail Lynn Flora, Tara Kerry Heisler, Linda Holbrook. Preceded her death is her father, Camiel Doms; grandparents, Guy & Eva Olson and Francis & Bertha Doms; uncle, Melvin Olson; cousins, Robert Olson & Roland Ray Olson. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday 10/17/2004 at the Sauktown Church of Christ in Mill Creek, IN. with Rev. Howard Simmons, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday 10/15/2004 at the Haverstock Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be in the Sauktown Cemetery, at a later date.
