Paula (Oblinger) Kruszewski

Paula (Oblinger) Kruszewski, 68, of Lakeville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 8, 1957, in Japan, Paula was the daughter of Phyllis and Bernard “Joe” Oblinger of South Bend, Indiana, who preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and strength touched the lives of all who knew her.

Paula is survived by her son, Troy (Ashley) Oblinger of Roswell, GA; granddaughters Patience Forsythe of Walkerton, IN, Zailey Hess of Plymouth, IN, Quincey Hess of Lafayette, IN, Jezzabelle Hess of Bourbon, IN, Harper Oblinger of Roswell, GA, and Emma Strickland of Plymouth, IN; grandson Cooper Oblinger of Roswell, GA; and great-granddaughters Lilly and Violet Fisher of Walkerton, IN. She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald (Cindy) Oblinger, Joanna (Dan) Blacketor, Joey Oblinger, and Teresa (Matthew) Seifers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kruszewski (October 24, 2007); her son, James U. Moore III (June 28, 2007); and her daughter, Heather Marie Moore (March 12, 2023).

Paula’s life was defined by her deep love for family, her unwavering resilience in the face of loss, and her warm spirit that welcomed everyone she met. She was an avid Notre Dame fan, who loved to watch the Fighting Irish play football. She will be remembered for her generosity, her laughter, and her ability to bring people together.

A celebration of Paula’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in her honor.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. The family has chosen cremation.
