Phyllis M. Patrick

January 27, 1933-April 28, 2023

Phyllis M. Patrick, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, formerly of Fish Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday April 28, 2023 at Miller's Health and Rehab in La Porte, with family by her side.

She was born January 27, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of John Tener and Ethel May Cauffman.

Raised in what is now Potato Creek State Park, Phyllis attended Mill Creek School and went on to work as an upholsterer for Kingsley Furniture, retiring in 1983 after 25 years with the company.  Phyllis married Andrew Patrick, who preceded her in death.  Her passion was her family and she loved spending time with them. Cooking was Phyllis' gift to her family and they all met for her fried chicken on Sundays. Her German Chocolate Cake always had two cans of frosting and her special green Jell-o salad, which had its own Tupperware dish, will continue to be shared by her loved ones.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Sarah Grace "Debbie" (Bob) Walsh of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Granger of Fish Lake, IN, Hannah Neal of Sommerville, SC; two sisters, Fay (Benny) Patla of Fish Lake, IN, Shirley (Gene) Mattocks of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Jackson (Roby) Neal, Payton (Noah) Stoller and great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Blakely and Phinlee.

Along with her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Patrick; brothers, Al Tener, Russell Coder, Chester Coder, Lloyd Tener, Edward Tener; sisters, Lillian Taylor, Mary Noel and Donna Snyder.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. Cremation will take place, with burial and memorial service at a later date.

Because of the joy Phyllis felt when she took trips to the zoo with Jessica and Jackson, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Potawatomi Zoo, 500 S. Greenlawn Ave, South Bend, IN 46615.
