Phyllis "Pam" Wampler July 1, 1933-May 18, 2017 Mrs. Phyllis "Pam" Millbern Wampler of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at Miller's Health and Rehab in LaPorte, IN. She was born July 1, 1933 in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Huffer A. and Majorie (Carles) Millbern. Pam graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor degree in elementary education. On December 19, 1954, in Kokomo, IN, she married William Wampler. The fibers of the rope of her life were made up of her faith, family and friends. Pam taught at Stillwell and Crichfield Schools and was co-owner of the Bee Hive craft shop where she taught tole and decorative painting as well as other crafts. She was active in the community. As a member of Tri Kappa and Tri Kappa Associates, she served in many capacities including president of both organizations. She volunteered at the hospital, served Meals on Wheels and co-chaired for several years for the Tri Kappa Association Concessions for the Thursday night Arts in the Park. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years William Wampler; two daughters, Teri (Robert) Singer, Marcia (Clyde) Brodhacker; son, David (Sheila) Wampler; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Pam will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church of LaPorte. A life celebration will be held at the church on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 2:30 pm with Pastor Bob Vale, officiating.
