Raymond E. "Butch" Schnick Jr. October 1, 1940-December 18, 2017 Raymond E. "Butch" Schnick, Jr., 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born October 1, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Raymond E. Schnick Sr.and June F. (Wilson) Schnick. Raymond retired in 2002 after over 30 years as a field project manager in the steel industry. He served in the Army National Guard in the engineering battalion from 1963-1965. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Michigan City. Raymond had a great passion for his family; spending time camping, fishing, and traveling. On August 10, 1963, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Sharon (Hunsley) Schnick who survives in La Porte, Indiana. He is also survived by his daughter, Dawn (John) Sprouse of La Porte, IN; two sons, Scott (Heather) Schnick of La Porte, IN, Christopher (Katherine) Schnick of La Porte, IN; eight grandchildren, Brittni (Fritz) Berger, Chase (Erin) Sprouse, Hailey (Matt) Parr, Layni (Andrew Miramontes) Sprouse, Tristan Schnick, Sebastian Schnick, Sawyer Schnick, Tucker Schnick; three great-grandchildren, Chloeann Sprouse, Elaina Sprouse, Julius Berger; brother, Allen (Billie) Schnick of Sevierville, TN; several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, David Schnick. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 21, 2017, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday, December 22, 2017, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 Franklin Street, Michigan City, Indiana 46360. A life celebration will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Friday December 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Czolgosz officiating.
