Richard Lee Granacki, born on January 16, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Orange City, Florida. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud Air Force veteran, Richard served his country with honor, a testament to his dedication and sense of duty. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School before graduating from Elston High School in Michigan City. He furthered his education at Purdue University, a pursuit that positioned him for a fulfilling life. Richard was a devote Catholic and attended every Sunday.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Eva; his daughter Brandy (Trey) Abshier; his son Chandler Granacki; his sister Patricia Dolzal; and his cherished grandchildren Harper, Savannah, and Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Eva Granacki, and his son Paul Granacki.

A Mass in Richard’s honor will be held on August 30, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, located at 109 Ann Street in Michigan City, Indiana, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, he will be laid to rest at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 1015 Greenwood Ave., at 11:15 AM.

Richard Lee Granacki’s warmth, humor, and love for family left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
