Robert Nickerson

Mr. Robert L. Nickerson, age 83, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., died 6:30 AM Saturday, February 10, 2007, at his residence in Rolling Prairie, Ind. He was born march 25, 1923 in Rolling Prairie, Ind. to late Merle Nickerson and the late Rachel Bennitt Nickerson. He has been a lifelong resident of the Rolling Prairie area. Mr. Nickerson was employed by Modine Mfg. for 42 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. He has held many positions over the years at the church, Past Member of the Rolling Prairie Lions Club. He loved gardening, working in his yard and watching birds. He was a Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fan; he enjoyed sports of all kinds. On March 25, 1943 in Rolling Prairie, Ind. he married Barbara Reese who survives. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Webb of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Dottie Jim Davis of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Terry Joann Nickerson of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; Seven grandchildren Kathryn Austin, David Armstrong, Tonya Nickerson, Troy Nickerson, Amanda Sherrick, Sarah Huff, Andrew Davis; Thirteen great-grandchildren; Two Sisters, Mrs. Eloise Williamson of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Mrs. Ruth Stombaugh of South Bend, Ind.; and One Brother, Mr. Richard Nickerson of Rolling Prairie, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2007 and Tuesday from 9:30 until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2007, Rev. David Tripp officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
