Robert E. Wheaton April 3, 1937-March 7, 2018 Robert E. Wheaton, 80, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born April 3, 1937 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Frank D. Wheaton and MinnieI. (Bellis) Wheaton. Robert retired from La Porte Plastics as a maintenance man after thirteen years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing video games, dominoes, and yahtzee. He is survived by his Son, Ronald Wheaton of LaPorte, IN; Sister, Edith Kraus of LaPorte, IN; brother, Ray (Juanita) Bellis of Rolling Prairie, IN; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by both his parents, son, Robert Wheaton, sister, Evelyn Hayes, brother, Delbert Wheaton, brother, John Bellis. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Robert E. Wheaton.
