A lifelong resident of La Porte, Russella graduated from La Porte High. On November 16, 1963, at Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte, Russella married her high school sweetheart, Paul F. Rosentreter, who survives. She is also survived by her three daughters, Sherri Marie (Jeff) Sacks, Brenda Ruth Morgan, Merideth Justine Lamber, all of La Porte; brothers Richard (Irmgard) Masterson of Tacoma, WA, Dane Allen Clanton of Alabama; sisters Ginger Stone of Waco Texas, Kay Lynn Metcalf of Michigan City; grandchildren, Michael ( Brittney), Joshua (Amber), Dakota (Demi), Meghan, Jordan, Elizabeth (Matthew); 13 great-grandchildren and a large extended group of family and friends. Russella was a member of The Harvest Time Church of God, La Porte and was actively involved in their women's groups and Bible study. Although she worked as a beautician and was a certified dog groomer, she was truly a homemaker, passionate about her family. Sewing and quilting were Russella's favorite hobbies and she made quilts for every single one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active girl scout leader, following her daughters from brownies to cadets as well as being involved in all her children's school activities. She also enjoyed bird watching and driving around the lake with her daughter in her early days of motherhood. Russella had both a vegetable and flower garden and was an ardent canner. Along with Paul, she loved riding on their Blue Honda Trike, going camping in their latest R.V. and boating- just generally being outdoors. They had season tickets to the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshawana, and boy could they cut a rug, doing the jitterbug, back in the days when they belonged to the Moose club. Because of her wonderful way with animals, Paul called her "The Pied Piper of Pooches" and her dogs Missy, Lola and Peanut will miss their "mama". Russella was a loving, caring, kind woman who always looked for the best in everyone and who her daughters said, "We are blessed to call her mother and best friend".
