Sherman Thompson

Mr. Sherman P. Thompson, age 83, of La Porte, Ind., died 10:25 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, Ind. He was born October 26, 1923 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He has lived in the LaPorte area for 40 years coming from Kentucky. Mr. Thompson was employed by Kingsley Furniture Co. for 20 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of PNA of LaPorte and was a union steward at Kingsley Furniture Co. He served in the military during W.W. II On April 25, 1964 in LaPorte, IN. he married Doris Ward who survives He is also survived by his Three Daughters, Mrs. Judy Chuck Doll of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Debbie Larry Matlock of Owensboro, Ky., Mrs. Sherlene J.R. Weeks of Owensboro, Ky.; Two Sons, Mr. Steve Thompson of Owensboro, Ky., Mr. Michael Thompson of Owensboro, Ky.; Several Grandchildren and great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 3:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2007, Pastor Jack M. Cox officiating. Cremation to follow.
