Sonja Lynn Harness, age 55, of La Porte, IN., died Friday, April 13, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, IN, Shw was born April 17, 1951, in Kayford, WV, to the late Ora Shumate and the late Lucy Crank Shumate. She has lived in the LaPorte area for 39 years, coming from Chicago IL. Harness was employed by LaPorte School Corp. as an Aid for the Handicap School bus drivers, for 8 years, retiring in 1997. She loved to make crafts she was a loving mother and a wife, she was a friend to everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving is her husband Mr. James D. Harness, of LaPorte, IN, One Son, Mr. Michael Christon Harness of La Porte, IN, One Daughter Mrs. Christina Kevin Masterson of La Porte Five Sisters, Billy Sineni of Bartlett, Ill. Ruby Shaffer of Sissonville, W. Va. Anna Smith of Gilbert, Ariz. CharlotteDonnie Byrnes of Franklin, Ohio, Linda Jack Cassidy of Hamilton, Ohio, One Brother, Mr. Clayton Janet Shumate of Chicago, IL. Six grandchildren, Lindsey Harness, of LaPorte, IN, Molly Harness, of LaPorte, IN, Michael Harness of LaPorte, IN, Tyler Harness, of LaPorte, IN, Lee Masterson, of LaPorte, IN, Kelsey Masterson, of LaPorte, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN,., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 16, 2007, and from 9:00 AM Tuesday April 17, 2007 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2007 , Wth Rev. Todd M. Woods officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, IN.
