Stanley Dopieralski, Jr., age 89, of New Carlisle, IN passed away as he wished- peacefully in his own home on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Stanley was born on July 18, 1937 in South Bend, IN to the late Stanley, Sr. and Marian (Clem) Dopieralski. He was a graduate of New Carlisle High School, Class of 1956. Through a mutual friend at school, Stanley met Yvonne Elkins and married on June 1, 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church in LaPorte, IN. They celebrate 69 years together filled with love, devotion, family. Stanley spent his career with Animal By-Products as a route driver and retired in 2004 after 45 years of service.

Stanley was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and of course his Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He bowled for different leagues throughout the years at lanes including Beacon Bowl, Black Cat, and Thunderbird Lanes. Stanley enjoyed being outside in his yard. Whether he was mowing, tending to the flowers, or raking, he did so with a “cold one” nearby. More than anything, Stanley loved the time that he spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Stanley is survived his wife: Yvonne; daughters: Michelle Romig, Leslie (Bill) Boundy, Dawn (Troy) Davis, Jennifer Binkley, and Carina Gould (Tom Jackson); grandchildren: Rachel Mezzei, Ryan (Andrea) Romig, Autumn Messer, Emily Romig, Stephanie (Robert) Becvar, Amber (Jonathan) Frick, Briana Davis, Travis Davis, Brittany Hahn, Zachary Hahn, Haley Hahn, Austin Hahn, Kiersten Philipson, and Katlin Philipson; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents: Stanley Sr. and Marian; and his siblings: Beverly DeGraf, Donald Dopieralski, Sandra Surma, Karen Lowery, and twin brother Steven Dopieralski.

Friends and family may gather for a Celebration of Stanley’s Life hosted by the Dopieralski Family at the American Legion Post #297 486 East Michigan St./US Hwy 20, New Carlisle) on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 2:00-5:00 EST. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stanley’s name may be made to the Center for Hospice Care (501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545). Cremation services are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
