Suzanne Chambers

The funeral for Mrs. Suzanne Carol Chambers, 62, of 1366W CR-650N, LaPorte, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home, with Rev. David Sickelka officiating. She died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at LaPorte Hospital. Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul?s United Church of Christ, 1101 Lincoln Way, La-Porte, IN 46350. She was born June 1, 1941, in Detroit, Mich., to Fred Haus and Virginia Nelson Trippler, and lived in the LaPorte area most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul?s United Church of Christ where she was a member of the church council, the choir, volunteered at the food pantry and volunteered at the Herald-Argus for the church. On April 21, 1963, in LaPorte, she married Ronald Chambers, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Donald Toni and Leroy Staci, both of LaPorte, and Richard, of Michigan City; one daughter, Barb Steve Closs, of Michigan City; five grandchildren, Jessica Jacobs, Tyler Czizek, Brandon Payne, Destinee Beatty and Jessica Anderson; one great-grandson; and one sister, Sharon, of Arizona.
