Theodora (Teddy) Callas passed away on Sunday, August 13 with her beloved family by her side.

 

Teddy was born on February 18, 1928, in La Porte, IN to the late George and Panayeota (Soffis) Lamberson.

 

On October 2, 1949, she married James Callas who preceded her in death. Surviving Teddy are her children, George James (Billie) Callas, La Porte, IN, Paula Jane (Michael) Daily, Fishers, IN, Sister-in-law, Helen Lamberson. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Zachary James Daily, Fishers, IN and Alexandra Jane Daily, Fishers, IN who affectionately called her "Yiayia". Also surviving Teddy are nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous blended family members.

 

Preceding in her death, her brother Lambert G. Lamberson, infant twin's, brother Louis and sister Pauline Lamberson, cousin Frances Magrames.

 

Teddy worked at Kingsley Furniture in La Porte, IN for 46 years. Teddy was a member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, the Ladies Grecian Club, and bowled for 30 years with the La Porte Bowling League. Always, thinking of others, Teddy loved to entertain family and friends at her home over the years. Her kindness and sweetness were shown by welcoming everyone to her home, always saying. "Stop by for some coffee and ". She was also known for her fabulous and well-presented Easter Dinners every year. You never left hungry.

 

She was a proud & dedicated member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Michigan City. She served as treasurer for the church for many years. She chaired numerous events at the church, especially being recognized for her yearly, "Christmas Bake Sale".

 

Teddy's family would like to express their gratitude to Dunes Hospice and Ingrid's USA, INC for their exceptional care they have provided. Also, thank you to her dear friends and neighbors for their thoughtfulness and kindness over the years.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 7396 W. Johnson Rd, Michigan City, IN, services will begin at 10:00 am with a 1 hour visitation and funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., with The Rev. Fr. James Greanias officiating, assisted by The Rev. Fr. Silouan Rolando.    Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.

 

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made in Teddy's honor to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278, Riley's Children Foundation, 500 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204 or the National MS Society, 3500 DePauw Blvd, Suite 1040, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
