Violet H. Moore March 31, 1923-January 1, 2018 Violet H. Moore, 94, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at Golden Living Center-Countryside in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born March 31, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Herman Eichbrecht and Clio (Patridge) Eichbrecht. Violet was a homemaker who enjoyed reading books, baking, playing bingo, and spending time with her family. On March 14, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, she married Melvin Moore who preceded in death June 18, 2006. She is survived by her four daughters, Darlene Harris of La Porte, IN, Karen (Larry) Doll of La Porte, IN, Hazel Edgington of La Porte, IN, Laurie (Steve) Johnson of Kingsbury, IN; three sons, Ron (Ann) Moore of Tulsa, OK, Gordon (Paula) Moore of Rolling Prairie, IN, Richard (May) Moore of La Porte, IN; eight-grandchildren; nine-great-grandchildren; one-great-great grandchild. Violet was preceded in death by both her parents, husband, and sister, Rita Bloom. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana. Private family services will be held at a later date with Pastor Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
