Mrs. Virginia L. ?Gini? Cooper, 64, of LaPorte, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at 7:20 p.m. at her home. She was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Whitestown Township, Vernon County, Wis., to Mack and Ferol Butcher Budde. Mrs. Cooper was a media specialist at LaPorte High School for 35 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of LaPorte Missionary Church; LaPorte Federation of Teachers, a branch of the American Federation of Teachers; Association of Indiana Media Educators; and Academic Coaches Association. She had a master?s degree in library science and a vocational teacher?s license. On June 24, 1961, in Hillsboro, Wis., she married David L. Cooper, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Cama L. Dave Lawson of LaPorte; one son, Cade D. Rachel of LaPorte; four grandchildren, Chelsey and Ashley McIntosh and Jacob and Caiya Cooper; one sister, Shirley J. Pressler of Eau Claire, Wis.; and two brothers, Douglas C. Budde of Tomah, Wis., and Rev. Roger M. Budde of Logansport. Her parents preceded her in death. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with her brother, Rev. Roger M. Budde, officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
