William A. Cassady July 29, 1946-March 13, 2017 William A. Cassady, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at his home in La Porte, Indiana. He was born July 29, 1946 in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Stephen and Treva (Gearhart) Cassady. William retired in 2009 after 22 years as a regional sales manager for Tempel Steel Company in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of Purdue University in Lafayette, In. He was a member of the CrossPointe Christian Church in Valparaiso and enjoyed golfing, gardening, bird watching, playing pool and traveling with his wife. William volunteered at the Women's Care Center in LaPorte. On August 27, 1966, in Hamlet, Indiana, he married Sandra (Linback) Cassady of La Porte, Indiana. Also surviving are three daughters, Christa (Jody) Brown of La Porte, IN, Kara (Todd) Cassady of Trail Creek, IN, Meghan Cassady of La Porte, IN; five Grandchildren, Chandler (Katie) Brown of Porter, IN, Chase (Emily) Brown of La Porte, IN, Chaeney Brown of La Porte, IN, Christian Brown of La Porte, IN, Caedmon Brown of La Porte, IN; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Kennedy, Jody Ann, Logan, Kaius, Kinley, Kassady. He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. The family will receive friends at the CrossPointe Christian Church, 114 E U.S. Hwy 6, Valparaiso, IN., where a life celebration and dinner will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:30 CDT in honor of William Cassady.
