June 4, 1927-October 20, 2020

He was born June 4, 1927 in Three Oaks, Michigan, the son of Abraham Wondergem Sr.and Margaret (Comer) Wondergem.

Abraham served in the United States Army during WWII, first in the Infantry 6th regiment, then in the 66th tank battalion.  He worked as service manager for HE Jahns, PW Way and La Porte Chrysler Plymouth, before retiring as shop foreman for Diedrich Drill.  Abe attended the Lambs Chapel United Methodist Church, was a member of the La Porte American Legion Post 83 and a 50 year member of the Polish Falcons #564 of La Porte, where he built a hog roaster to use for special events. Airplanes fascinated Abe and he loved going to air shows. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, watching golf, and woodworking.  He donated his time and work to help seniors at their homes by building them doors, ramps and other things to make the home more accessible.

Abraham is survived by his son, Abraham (Janet Ann) Wondergem III of Fischers, IN; grandchild, Michael (Katie) Patrick Wondergem; great-grandchildren, Hadley Morgan and Kellen Michael Wondergem; sister, Joan Larson of Cherokee Village, AR; nieces and nephews.
