Alwilda Kewley

Mrs. Alwilda Kewley, 92, of 1111 Longwood Dr., LaPorte, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at 8:50 p.m. at LaPorte Hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Monon, IN, to Joseph and Edith Kellogg, and had lived here 50 years, coming from Monon. Mrs. Kewley retired in 1970 as manager of McClellan's Dime Store, LaPorte. She was a member of Moose Heart. On March 26, 1952, in LaPorte, she married Jerry G. Kewley, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Margurite Johnson; and one brother, Joseph Kellogg. Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Ronald Stayback of Rolling Prairie; one son Jerry of LaPorte; one granddaughter, Kelly B. Dadlow; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Kellogg of Monon. A private family service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte is in charge of arrangements.
