June 17, 1958-May 13, 2022
Barry A. Fitzpatrick, 63, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday May 13, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft Wayne.
He was born June 17, 1958 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of James Albert and Geraldine (Hibner) Fitzpatrick.
A lifelong resident of the area, Barry attended St. John's Lutheran Elementary and graduated from La Porte High School. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Accounting degree before beginning his career as a driver with UPS. Barry was a member of the Lighthouse Church in La Porte and participated in many of their ministries, including Courtside Ministries and prison ministries and was helping them with renovations in their new church. On December 12, 2009, he married Tracy Lyn Pagels at their church in La Porte. Barry was an avid baseball fan and not only did he love to watch the Cubs on TV and score their games, but he worked as an usher at the South Bend Cubs games. And once a Slicer always a Slicer - Barry worked at football games at the time clock. He enjoyed playing softball and was active on the internet with WGT golfing, proudly setting a record of participating 1200 days in a row with other players from around the world. He was a man who lived his life to the fullest, with God as his inspiration.
Along with his wife, Tracy, Barry is survived by his father and mother in law, Ron & Linda Chance of La Porte; brother and sister-in-law, Adam & Brenda Pagels of La Porte; brother, Jim Fitzpatrick of Kingsford Heights, IN; sister, Darlene (Tom) Todd of La Porte, IN; four nephews, Ryan (Amy) Blind, Ralph (Tracy) Fitzpatrick, Carson Pagels, Hudson Pagels and his exuberant yellow Lab, Angus.
