Kimberly S. Tanksley

Kimberly S. Tanksley, 49, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday December 28, 2020 at Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City, IN.
She was born in La Porte, IN, the daughter of Bill Hooper and Susan Kupres Hooper Lindsey.
On December 16, 1995, at the Friendship Baptist Church in La Porte, Kimberly married Mark Tanksley, who survives.
Kimberly was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Assembly of God Church in La Porte. Her family was her life and she enjoyed her husband and children to the fullest. When the kids were younger, she and her husband took them hiking and camping in their pop up camper, going to such places as Turkey Run State Park and the Covered Bridge Festival. Kimberley was also a member of the Hamon Gray Post 83 American Legion Auxiliary, La Porte and LOVED fashion shopping, owning a purse for every outfit. She and Mark enjoyed gardening and built small raised vegetable beds in the yard. Because of her affection for animals, she had 2 black labs, River and Sienna and a cat, Oreo.
Kimberly is survived by her mother, Susan Lindsey of La Porte; her loving husband, Mark; 2 sons, Jonathan and Justin Tanksley of La Porte; a daughter, Jeanette Tanksley of La Porte; two sisters, Jennifer and Jamie Hooper of La Porte and other extended family.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Bill Hooper.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN, where the family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 Thursday January 7, 2021. A memorial life celebration will be held immediately following at 4:30 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Hines, officiating. Cremation has been selected. If you are attending the event, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
