Marian Louise Chambers

July 7, 1926---March 6, 2021

ONE life lived,

MANY lives touched, when Marian was born to Nyle and Elizabeth (Mieras) Wing in Fenwick, MI. Her brother Dennis and his twin Jean predeceased her but her "baby brother", Gale, who turns 86 on May 28th survives.  She will be reunited in late April with her husband, Max E. Chambers, when her cremains are placed at the Palo, MI. cemetery.  Max preceded her in the year 2004.

Her fulfilling life of 94 years and eight months was blessed with three children:  Barbara (Kray) of LaPorte, IN. with whom she resided the past eight years; Clare (deceased); and Susan (Runyon) of the Woodlands.

Nine grandchildren:  Brandon, Jared, Lara, Natasha, Ryan, Randy, Jason, Jennifer, and Jeffrey and 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren survive their "Gi Ma" and "GiGiMa".

Marian was salutatorian of her Sheridan High School class and put her sharp mind to work as a bookkeeper for thirty years.  After retiring she and Max resided in Alamo, TX. for twenty-five years.  She was always an active member of the FUMC wherever she lived.  In LaPorte she enjoyed the Symphony Orchestra, Steady Stitchers and the Extension Club, and was a regular at the Swanson Activity Center for Senior Citizens.  Friends and the needy benefited from Marian's "always busy" hands.  Her many charitable gifts were either knitted, crocheted, or quilted.  Everyone will miss the devout Christian woman with her optimistic cheerful personality.  We can hear her saying "Shed no tears for me, I am where I want to be." Her family knows she's smiling on them now, and waiting to someday say, "Welcome home."

Arrangements under the careful direction of Haverstock Funeral Home & Cremation Services 602 Maple Ave. La Porte, IN 46350.
