Pamela Kay Roper Nadel July 2, 1956-June 5, 2018 Pamela Kay Roper Nadel, 61, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away the morning of Tuesday, June 5 in Michigan City following a traffic accident. She was born July 2, 1956 in Gary, Indiana to the late Philip and Emily (Wittig) Roper, formerly of Hobart and Union Mills. Pam was an Honor Society graduate of Stranahan High School, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; earned her nursing degree at Purdue University; attended the School of Law at the University of Los Angeles; and studied a semester at the University of Oxford, England. During Pam's nursing career she specialized in medical/surgical and cardio vascular care, working in hospitals in Gary and Valparaiso, Indiana; LA County California, and Greensboro, North Carolina. She was also a Real Estate broker while residing in Greensboro. Pam played the piano, enjoyed cooking, gardening, growing pink roses, and working with arts and crafts. She is survived by her sisters Linda (Steve) Smith of Union Mills, and Sarah Roper of Sherman Oaks, California; her brother Philip (Tim) Roper of Union Mills; niece Danielle Roper-Gehring (Greg) of Ocala, Florida; great nieces and nephew Courtney, Dalton and Santana of Ocala, Florida; Cousin Carol Sue Roper Olson (Alan) of Lewisburg, West Virginia; Aunts Bernice Victor of East Chicago, IN; and Betty (Bill) Baran of Bullhead City, AZ; Uncles Robert Wittig of Pierceton, IN; and Uncle Harry (Sue) Wittig of Leesburg, IN; along with many other family members and dear friends throughout the country, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Cheryl Lillie, and her loving dog, Butterfinger. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indina. A life celebration will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 29 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G Street, La Porte, Indiana 46350. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery at a later date. Pam was a dog lover. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the LaPorte County Animal Shelter, 2855 IN-2, LaPorte, Indiana 46350, or charity of choice.
