Wayne Alan Boyd, 71, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2022 at his home in La Porte, IN.

He was born October 23, 1950 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Raymond Boyd and Florence (Logsdon) Boyd.

Wayne would help anybody at any time. He loved boating, golf, water sports, and Indy 500 racing. He loved anything to do with auto racing and attended the Indianapolis 500 - 49 times and has a brick at the speedway acknowledging 44 of those years attending. He was a long time member of the IBEW, PRCU, Polish Falcons, and the American Legion Post 83. In addition, Wayne worked for Lakeland Fireworks being very involved in their set-ups for years. He graduated from La Porte High School in 1968.

He is survived by his sister, Mary (Greg) Graham of Columbia, TN; brother, Eugene Boyd of Michigan City, IN; niece, Jeannie (Alan) Bernstein; nephew, Chris (Kristin) Graham; two Great-Nieces, Erica Hardy, and Piper Graham, and cousin Jo Lute. As well as friends:  Jim Pape, Carl “Whazz” Wisnieski and many more.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has taken place and the family will host a memorial service at a later date.
